I wrote this track specifically for all Iraqi women
from mothers, daughters, cousins, sisters, aunts, grandmothers and so forth. It
is dedicated to my Grandmother "Bibi Asia" Allah Yirhamha and Sandhill's Bibi
Sagidam, Allah Yarhamha. Both lost in the confusion and torment of a destroyed
motherland that was once beautiful and glorious in its essence. Our lives and
souls would have not been permitted to visit this earth if it were not for these
two beautiful Queens and for all the rest of our women, we thank you for being
the strong, soulful, gorgeous and intelligent lights emanating towards the
darkness of our patriarchal ways. This is for you......Peace to the Sun, Moons,
Stars, Galaxies, Universe and God. Without you, there is no us. (Men are just
ignorant please forgive them!)
VERSE 1:
I should have cherished her merits/ inherit her measure to pleasure/
our esoteric Sumerian heritage/ clerics embarrassed/ because
marriage never came/ carriage in flames/ we severed the game/ till I
saw her face, once again/ and remembered her name/ but forgot the
pain/ we rott in for not catching eyes/ the same spot, I would grasp
at half her thigh/ and feel energy, suspending me/ steel imagery of
love/ symmetry of us together, giving me a rush/ like Limbaughs’
parents/ in awe, staring at her skin bra unlatch/then all would
match/ that’s how you fall in traps/ of lust and carnal facts/
Infatuated, for all that’s lapsed/ I had to hate it, but to see you
here/ crying see through tears/ equal speak through glares/ pardon
me, like Bush’s reach to Blair for lying/ I saw you, crept behind
and spied/ because half my might was lost, I’m from your past life/
She got gassed like the Kurds Did/ Told her this brother would love
her with no conception of what words hid/ the earth flipped/ and
divided truth/ like the Tribe of Lut/ Confide in you my highness,
our minds in tune/ but I could feel the reciprocity possibly
climbing/ fostering philosophy minors and atrocities inside us/ talk
to me awkwardly, I’m hazed like Isaac/ reminded of times we both
combined our horizons/ I gave her my number and signed it…..
CHORUS:
This earth’s planned doom, burnt deserts and sand dunes
A Bedoo in dreams, whenever you leave, it rains, I met her a Queen
VERSE 2:
Forever my better half/ in bed or in Seven baths of heaven/ the
severed paths/ we never pretend or ask/ existed/ with
Nebuchadnezzar’s wrath/ resisted her hour glass frame/ sand over
past flames devoured/ and all is fact now/ she called me back, How/
wonderful it was to see you, flower petal/ Metal showers/ Said she’s
already dead in power/ Married an American man who hates life/
Dates, lies and let her get raped twice/ the weight rises/ off her
shoulder and I could taste spite/ But couldn’t bear understand like
Yogi’s teachings/ what arrogance can do to a man, and told her
reasons/ I loved her once/ Her harbor soiled like Basra was/ At war/
with suffered stunts that left her sore/ with a half breed/ past
seed/ child, of a bastards greed/ for power and hate to start
through/ truth’s her man, was too patriarchal/ pain from rape, she
felt wasted and stained/ it’s what you make it my dream/ Nefertiti/
Believe me, she received me/ reluctant to subject/ this republic
moon crescent/ to something repugnant/ I shoved it aside/ with pride
and hugged her life/ Asking why/ I want you back like Jackson 5/ but
she didn’t stay to talk, and never came back/ my heart was torn,
she’s beautiful, her name was IRAQ…..
